Warmer air will move into the region today into Saturday allowing temperatures to rebound into the 50s and 60s throughout the state today into Saturday. Overnight low temperatures tonight will be warmer as well with most sites dropping into the 30s. A gradual cool down is expected toward the end of the weekend into early next week with a shot at showers Sunday.

On this day in Iowa weather history...
1937: The last week of October was unusually warm and culminated on the 29th when many stations established records for their warmest temperature so late in the year. Reported high temperatures around the state included 92 F at Knoxville and Winterset, 91 F at Atlantic, 89 F at Des Moines, and 87 F at Decorah and at Belmond where amazingly 10.8 inches of snow had fallen in a storm less than two weeks earlier.
