HIGH PRESSURE CONTINUES TO DOMINATE IOWA - CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES THRUOUT THE STATE......THERES A RATHER COMPLEX SYSTEM SETTING UP AS LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPS IN THE ROCKIES. FORECAST MODELS ARE SPLIT ON THE IDEA OF BRINGING THE LOW INTO THE CENTRAL PLAINS AND CAUSING SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY AND MONDAY. IT APPEARS RIGHT NOW IOWA MAY NOT SEE ANY SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL - EVEN THO WE NEED IT....I'M THINKING THE LOW WILL ACTUALLY DEVELOP LATE SATURDAY AND MOVE INTO WESTERN IOWA SUNDAY MORNING. THAT'S WHEN IT GETS DIFFICULT. THE LOW WILL SPLIT - THE STRONGER PORTION WILL MOVE NORTHEAST AND FIRE SHOWERS/STORMS ALONG THE MN/IA BORDER LATER SUNDAY AND MONDAY, WHILE THE WEAKER SYSTEM MOVES SOUTHEAST INTO MISSOURI, JUST SKIRTING THE SOUTHERN COUNTIES WITH SOME LIGHT SHOWERS. POW COUNTY? MOSTLY CLOUDY - VERY ISOLATED SHOWERS.
