13 Nov 2010 Extended Forecast

A major winter storm will continue to affect northwest Iowa through midday today with very heavy wet snow and strong northwest winds. Near blizzard conditions are possible across portions of northwest Iowa where winds of 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts are possible. Visibility will become reduced to less than one quarter mile at times. Storm total snowfall amounts of 6 to 10 inches can be expected. A very sharp edge in temperatures are expected across northern Iowa...which will lead to mostly rain in some areas...a mix of snow and rain...and rain changing to snow throughout the day.

Sun thru Tue 14th-16th - Partly Cloudy/Dry - Temps Low 40's to near 30.

Wed and Thurs 17th/18th - Snow Wed thru Thursday Morning (Possible Heavy Snow along I-80 Corridor and North - Something to watch) - then Partly Coudy and Windy.

Fri and Sat 19th/20th - Dry thru late Sat - then Rain Changing To A Winter Mix Late.

1999: Unseasonably warm weather brought the temperature all the way up to 85 F at Glenwood setting the all-time Iowa November record. Other reported high temperatures included 83 F at Oakland, Shenandoah, and Sidney, 82 F at Clarinda, Indianola, Logan, and Red Oak, and 81 F at Des Moines and several other locations.
