Snow Timeline:
Snow begins in Pow Cty thru the afternoon Sunday into overnite (1 Inch by Monday Morning)
Snow continues thru Monday with Gusting ENE Winds and Isolated heavier snowshowers thru the day - Winds subside and snow deminishes to Lt Snow/Flurries Tuesday Morning - Ending by afternoon. Total snow 3 Inches.
Heavier snow will occur North of Hwy 20 where 4-6 inches are likely - South of I-20 and North of I-80 can expect 3-4 inches - South of I-80 to the Mo. Border can expect a Winter Mix before changing to all snow with 1-3 Inches of snow depending on when the Mix changes to Snow.
With the state-wide forecast said - you can see POW Cty is in the bullseye for this one as far as the type of precip. I'm believing we'll see mainly an all snow event, but not ruling out a short period of rain/snow just before snow begins in earnest, and again just as the event is ending. That's just the way it works.

Are you making travel plans for the Holidays? Here's a quick heads-up on what to expect around the country...............
A storm moving into the Midwest and Ohio Valley could be the holiday travel-spoiler across many states. While travel across the West will be improving after Wednesday, the 22nd - the focus of the wintry weather will switch to areas from IOWA to Virginia.
Another storm system, called an Alberta Clipper, will drop southeastward through the country later next week and spread snow from Iowa all the way to Virginia. Alberta Clippers typically produce 1-3 inches of snow across a 400-mile swath.
Northeast and Great Lakes (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI, NY, PA, NJ, MD, DE, VA, WV, KY, OH, IN, MI):
Cold weather will continue across the region next week. Snow will develop Christmas Eve across parts of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. By Christmas Day, the snow will hit southern Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware.
The snow will affect I-80/90, I-70, I-71, I-75, I-69 and I-77 in Indiana and Ohio; I-94 in Michigan may also be affected by the snow.
In West Virginia, I-79 and I-77 may become icy and hazardous as snow and ice hit after dark Christmas Eve.
In Pennsylvania, snow will make it north to the PA Turnpike Christmas Day. In Maryland and Virginia, I-81 and I-95 will be hit by the snow.
Airports such as Detroit and Cincinnati may have delays due to snow and ice Christmas Eve.
Southeast (NC, SC, GA, FL, TN, AL, MS):
Travel conditions are expected to be chilly, but generally good across the Southeast during the holiday week. Airports should be operating normally for a holiday.
Roads will be dry across most states through Christmas Eve, then showers and thunderstorms will move through Christmas Day.
Midwest and Northern Plains (WI, IL, MN, IA, NE, ND, SD):
Light snow will hit Minnesota and Wisconsin on Wednesday into Thursday, while a wintry mix hits parts of Southern Iowa and Illinois before changing over to snow on Thursday.
Travel conditions along I-94 and I-90 will be slower at times due to the snow through Thursday. Icy travel may develop along I-80 from Iowa to Illinois.
Chicago and Minneapolis will have airport delays due to the weather on Wednesday into Thursday. Check ahead for flight information.
Southern Plains (KS, AR, MO, OK, TX, LA):
Dry, mild weather is expected for the southern Plains states next week. Roads and airports should all be in good shape.
Northwest and Rockies (WA, OR, ID, MT, WY, CO):
Stormy weather in the Rockies and Intermountain West early in the week should let up by Christmas.
I-5 through Oregon and Washington will have heavy rain from midweek on with travel delays potentially resulting. Flooding on secondary roads will occur again, so check ahead for travel restrictions.
Snow will affect the higher passes along I-90 from Snoqualmie Pass to Lookout Pass through Thursday. Travel restrictions are likely over the passes due to snow.
Rain and some snow will affect I-84 through Idaho and Oregon through early on Thursday, but it does look dry by Friday.
Southwest (CA, NV, UT, AZ, NM):
The trouble spot will be in northern California from San Francisco on north. Heavy rain and mountain snow will cause travel problems.
Donner Pass along I-80 will have heavy snow, so check ahead for restrictions going over the pass on Tuesday into Thursday morning.
Airport delays will be confined to San Francisco on Tuesday into Wednesday. Early morning fog could cause delays from Los Angeles to San Diego on Wednesday into Friday.
