Mon and Tues 6th/7th - Mostly Cloudy Mon - Flurries Tues.

Wed thru Fri 8th thru 10th - Mostly Cloudy with Snow Thursday and Fri - Highs 22-27 - Lows 5-10.

Sat and Sun 11th/12th - Mostly Cloudy/Flurries/Windy.

Monday thru Fri 13th thru 17th - Snowy. As we work our way toward the Christmas Holiday, the situation is looking whiter and whiter. The timeframe from the week of the 13th and into the 10 days after will be a stormy period....End Result? A White Christmas - Not only for us here in POW CTY Iowa, but as far South as Dixie!!!!!

NOTE: THE COLD AIR (I MEAN REALLY COLD AIR) AROUND THE POLES HAS BEGUN A SLOW MIGRATION TO THE SOUTH INTO NORTH/CENTRAL CANADA. HISTORICALLY, OUR FORECAST MODELS DON'T USUALLY HANDLE THESE SYSTEMS WITH HIGH RELIABILTY - THIS IS THE CASE NOW......NO FORECAST MODEL IS PICKING UP ON THIS.....

THE COLDEST AIR OF THE SEASON "SHOULD" BE IN PLACE OVER SOUTHERN CANADA BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. THIS SENARIO WOULD DEVELOP A SIGNIFICANT STORM OVER WESTERN NEBRASKA/WESTERN KANSAS AND PUSH EAST/NE WITH TIME, DRAGGING A WINTER STORM EASTWARD INTO OUR AREA AROUND THE 12TH/13TH, AND FINALLY TO THE EAST COAST BY MID-MONTH......THE WEEK FOLLOWING THE 13TH LOOKS VERY UNSETTLED, AND "WINTER LIKE"......

THIS ALL REMAINS TO BE SEEN - BUT IT'S SOMETHING TO WATCH FOR.
