FIRST MEASURABLE SNOW???
THE MAP ABOVE SHOWS THE FORECAST SNOWFALL BY EARLY MORNING SUNDAY.
We went the entire month of November without much snow….only a trace was reported at the Grinnell Observation Station. Today starts December, and our precipitation event is showing its cards for the weekend now. Looks like some snow will fall here, in fact, a couple inches are possible here Pow County - 4+ inches from Iowa City/I-80 and Northward.
This is a clipper system at its finest and we’ll likely see a northwest to southeast oriented band of snow develop. Usually these systems are a slam-dunk for 1-3″ of snow, however there are indications that we could see a bit more than that from Iowa City and points to the north.
Wind will be a factor, and will kick in on Saturday. Bundle up! Welcome to December!
