21 Jan 2011 Extended Forecast


In spite of relatively low wind speeds, cold temperatures this morning over central and northeast Iowa will result in wind chill values as lows as 20-30 below through mid morning. A series of weak weather systems will move through over the next several days. The first will produce an inch or two of snow over Pow Cty today. Expect Lt Snow early this morning in the west and move into Pow Cty around Noon and thru the day - ending around 7pm.  Another system will move through late Saturday night through Monday. Another 1 to 2 inches of snow can be expected.


Today Fri 21st - Dry - Then Lt Snow from Noon to 7pm (1-2 Inches) High 10.

Sat thru Mon 22nd thru 24th - Dry Sat - Then Lt Snow Sunday and Monday (1-2 Inches) Highs 15-20 Lows 5-10.

Tue thru Thurs 25th thru 27th - Dry Tues - Wed/Thurs  Snowshowers Highs Low 20's Lows near 10.

Fri thru Sun 28th thru 30th - Dry Friday - Lt Snow Saturday - Dry Sunday.

Mon/Tues 31st/Feb 1st - Dry Mon - Snow Tues.

HOW LONG WILL THE TEMPS STAY BELOW NORMAL?  WE SHOULD SEE A BRIEF COUPLE DAY WARM-UP AROUND THE 25TH/27TH (MAY EVEN SEE SOME ICE DURING THIS TIME) - THEN COLD AGAIN WITH ONLY BRIEF SHOTS OF WARMER/NORMAL HIGHS FOR 10-15 DAYS AFTER THE LAST WEEK OF JANUARY.
