A WET AND HEAVY SNOW FELL ACROSS A LARGE PORTION OF THE STATE OVERNIGHT AND THIS MORNING. SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION WAS GREATEST IN NORTH CENTRAL AND EAST CENTRAL IOWA WITH VALUES RANGING FROM 3 TO 4 INCHES. SNOWFALL AMOUNTS RANGING FROM 2 TO 3 INCHES WERE COMMON THROUGH CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL SECTIONS OF THE STATE. LESSER AMOUNTS FELL ELSEWHERE.

Gilman 2" - Marshalltown 2" - Tama 1" - Des Moines 2.8" - Newton 3/4".
Expect a Winter Mix to continue thru the day. Rain/Snow line is fine. Expect mostly Lt Snow thru the Northern 1/2 of Pow Cty - and Lt Rain to the South. May see a brief heavier snowshower that will dump wet snow quickly. 1-2" is still very much in the mix anywhere in Pow Cty - but especially along the I-80 Corridor West and North............
Today thru Sat 9th-12th: Breezy/Lt Wet Snow mixing with Rain (1-2") - Dry Thurs into Fri afternoon - Winter Mix/Breezy Late Fri into Early Sat - then Dry. Temps 35-40 Today and Thurs - Low 50's Fri - Near 40 Sat.
