TODAYS IOWA SEVERE WEATHER THREAT
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS SOUTHWEST IOWA THIS AFTERNOON AND SPREAD NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS POW COUNTY TONIGHT.
EXPECT SOME SEVERE WEATHER WITH THE THUNDERSTORMS. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS ARE THE PRIMARY SEVERE THREATS...HOWEVER AN ISOLATED TORNADO IS ALSO POSSIBLE MAINLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80.
RAINFALL WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES WITH THE STRONGER STORMS TONIGHT - EXPECT 2+" THRU WED MORNING. THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE INTO WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT - AS THE MAIN THREAT FOR SEVERE WEATHER SHIFTS TO THE SE 1/3 OF IOWA (SOUTH OF I-80, AND EAST OF HWY 21).
Today 24th: Isolated Tshowers/Breezy After 3pm (Heavy Rain/Tstorms After Midnite) - Temp Near 80.
Wed and Thurs 25th/26th: Windy/Tstorms (Heavy Rain Wed Morning - 2+" Rain) - Then Isolated Afternoon Tshowers/Breezy - Dry Thurs -Temps mid 60's.
Fri thru Sun 27th-29th: Mainly Dry Fri - TShowers Overnite into Sat Morning - Then Dry - Dry/Breezy Sun - Temps 65/75/75.
Mon thru Fri 30th-June 3rd: Active Weather Pattern with Isolated Showers and Storms thru the week - There will be a real good shot at Stronger Storms Late Monday into Tues, and again on Thursday - A strong High Pressure Ridge should build over the SE U.S. forcing the main weather north into Central Iowa - with heaviest rainfalls in the western 1/2 of Iowa. Daily Timeframe of Thunderstorm activity if this pattern pans out will be overnite showers and storms. It's also likely we'll see well above normal temperatures with this pattern.
Sat and Sun 4th/5th: Dry.
Mon and Tues 6th/7th: Tshowers.
