23 MAY 2011 EXTENDED FORECAST

THE NEXT STORM SYSTEM TO AFFECT IOWA WILL MOVE OUT OF THE TEXAS PANHANDLE SPARKING SHOWERS AND STORMS IN POW CTY TUES.  EXPECT HEAVY RAIN OVERNITE TUES INTO WED MORNING, ALONG WITH POSSIBLE SEVERE STORMS.  WEAK HIGH WILL BUILD INTO THE AREA LATER WED, DRYING US OUT UNTIL LATER FRIDAY.

Today 23rd:  Dry Today - Temp 80.

Tues 24th:  Morning Isolated Showers - Tshowers/Breezy Late Afternoon (Strong Storms Overnite) - Temp 75.

Wed and Thurs 25th/26th:  Breezy/Tstorms (Heavy Rain Wed Morning - 2" Rain) - Then Isolated Afternoon Tshowers - Dry Thurs -Temps mid 60's.

Fri thru Sun 27th-29th:  Mainly Dry Fri - Showers Overnite into Sat Morning - Then Dry - Dry/Breezy Sun - Temps 65/75/80.

Mon thru Fri 30th-June 3rd:  Active Weather Pattern with Isolated Showers and Storms thru the week - A strong High Pressure Ridge should build over the SE U.S. forcing the main weather north into Central Iowa - with heaviest rainfalls in the western 1/2 of Iowa.

Sat and Sun 4th/5th:  Dry.

Mon and Tues 6th/7th:  Tshowers.
