Doppler Rainfall Estimates were mainly around an inch or less in Pow County from 7pm last nite thru 6am this morning. A small pocket of near 2 inches fell along the Pow/Mahaska County Line. A Heavy rain line of 5+ inches extended from near Newton to Ottumwa - with estimates of 6-8 inches south and east of Ottumwa. 1+ inch fell along the Pow, Keokuk, and Iowa County Lines. The totals will increase thru 9am - Tshowers should taper off and move North and East of Pow Cty by 9am - and thru Iowa and Keokuk by 10-11am.........A Warm Front is currently located along the Iowa/Mo. Border and will be the focus for additional storms later today and overnite. The front will push slightly north today and stall somewhere along the I-80 corridor. At the same time, an upper level system is entering Western Iowa and will intersect the warm front later this afternoon. Any storms that do develop should form in the southern part of the county - with the heaviest rainfall along I-80......Expect more storms overnite with upwards of 2+ more inches of rain thru midday Wed........Although the overall pattern will remain in place, we'll see a short reprieve Thursday as weak high pressure builds into Central Iowa - keeping us mainly dry. Tshowers will form overnite Thurs - then more of the same. Isolated Showers and storms will persist thru the weekend with a strong shot at more heavy rains around Sunday.......Temps will increase thru the period from the mid 70's today, to near 80 Friday, and to the Mid/High 80's by Sunday.
Today 14th: Breezy - Tshowers ending after 9am - then Partly Cloudy - Isolated Storms will re-develop between 2 and 4pm - Heavy Rain overnite tonite along the I-80 Corridor - Temp near 75.
Wed and Thurs 15th/16th: Tstorms ending after Noon - then Dry thru Thurs (Rainfall overnite Tues to Wed Noon 2+") - Temps 75-80.
Fri and Sat 17th/18th: Breezy - Isolated morning Showers - then afternoon Tstorms Fri lasting into Sat -Temps Low 80's.
Sun thru Wed 19th-22nd: Unsettled with Isolated Showers and Storms thru Wed - (More Heavy Rain possible Sunday) - Temps Mid/High 80's.
Thurs thru Wed 23rd-29th: Nice/Mainly Dry - Temps Mid 70's to Low 80's.
Thurs 30th: Isolated Tstorms.
