Monday, 27 June 2011 Extended Pow County Forecast

The heaviest rain fell overnite south of the I-80 corridor.  Up to an inch fell in Pow County....Area Wind Reports:  Oskaloosa 63MPH, Ottumwa 60MPH, Grinnell 47MPH.

Weather Headlines:
Showers will move out by mid morning.
Mainly dry week - temps increase to Mid 90's.

A hot and dry pattern sets up with high pressure building dominating the week. High temperatures will gradually warm throughout the week, reaching the mid 90s by Thursday and Friday. Southerly winds will allow for moisture to increase , which will lead to muggy conditions. Heat Index values will climb to near 100 degrees across all of Iowa by the end of the week - with only an outside shot at any rainfall.


Today and Tues 27th/28th: Tshowers ending - then Clearing and Breezy (NW Wind) this  Afternoon - Dry Tues -Temps 81/84.

Wed thru Sun 29th- July 3rd: Mainly Dry, Hot, and Windy - Temps Mid/High 80's - Low 90"s by Thurs and Fri - Isolated Tshowers later Fri into Say Morning - then dry and cooler (temps Low 80's) for the remainder of the weekend.

Mon and Tues 4th/5thth: Isolated Tshowers Mon - Dry Tues - Temps Low 80's.

Wed and Thurs 6th/7th:  Tshowers Wed - Dry Thurs - Seasonal Temps.

Fri and Sat 8th/9th:  Dry.

Sun and Mon 10/11th:  Tshowers.
