Sat, 18 June 2011 Extended Pow County Forecast

Note for the upcoming week:  A very strong Upper Level Low Pressure System will develop thru the day today and track southeast into western South Dakota Sunday into early Monday.  The upper low will interact with a surface front in Central Nebraska thru the day Monday and move into Western Iowa Monday afternoon/eve.  Severe Storms will move West to East and be in Central Iowa Late Monday/Early Tuesday.  The Threat?  Large Hail, Strong Winds, and Isolated Tornadoes.

States that may be hit by severe storms are central/eastern Nebraska, Kansas, southern Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri, as well as central and eastern Oklahoma. This includes the cities of Omaha, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Wichita, and Oklahoma City.


Today thru Monday 18th-20th:  Dry Today - Evening and Overnite Tstorms - Dry after 10am Sunday - then Isolated Evening Tshowers lasting into Monday Morning (Heaviest Rain near daybreak Monday) - Then Dry/Breezy thru the remainder of Monday - Temps Low to Mid 80's.

Tues and Wed 21st/22nd:  TSTORMS Tues (some Severe Storms/Heavy Rain) - then Cloudy/Dry and Breezy Wed - Temp 80 Tue - 72 Wed.

Thurs thru Wed 23rd-29th:  Nice/Mainly Dry -Temps Low 70's increasing to Mid 80's.

Thurs thru Sat 30th-July 1st: Isolated Tstorms.

Sun thru Tues 2nd-4th:  Dry/Breezy/Much Warmer.
