Expect some Isolated Showers this morning mainly West of Hwy 63 - then diminish by late morning. It will be dry the remainder of the week in Central Iowa.
The Big story for the week will be the excessive HEAT. Temp today in Pow Cty will reach 90 - then really start to kick in Sunday as temps begin their climb into the Mid to Upper 90's thru-out Central Iowa from Monday to Thursday. Overnite Low Temps will remain in the Mid 70's and in some cases near 80 thru the same time frame. Afternoon/Evening Heat Index will reach 110F.
The next honest shot at Tstorms will come Late Friday into Sat Morning as an overnite complex of storms develop in Western Iowa and drift Eastward. Rainfall amount in Pow County is uncertain - right now it's looking like SW Iowa will see the brunt of the rainfall, with an Isolated Severe Storm possible. This system will be heat breaker as Temps drop back to near 90 Fri and Sat.....The biggest cool down will come Sun/Mon (24th/25th) as a cold front moves into Northern Iowa firing Tstorms from Nw to Se thru the period. Some of these storms Will Have Severe potential..............

Monday thru Thurs 18th-21st: Dry/Hot/Very Humid - Temps Mid 90's (Heat Index 100-110).
Fri and Sat 22nd/23rd: Dry thru Fri - Tshowers Overnite into Mid Day Sat - Temps 92/88.
Sun and Mon 24th/25th: Tstorms Sun into Mid Day Mon - Then Dry - Temps Mid 80's.
Tues thur Fri 26th-29th: Dry - Low 80's.
Sat and Sun 30th/31st: Dry - Mid 80's.
