1/4"-1/2" of Rain fell in Pow County3/4" overnite - less amounts were reported NW to SE. Cedar Rapids reported near 2" with increasing amounts to the north. Up to 5" of rain fell north of Hwy 30.
A warm front will move North today drawing up more hot and humid air over central Iowa. Heat Index will reach 110 today in Pow County. Expect Isolated Showers all day. Tonight an upper level system will push Northeast and drag a cold front across central Iowa. We'll see another round of showers and storms lasting into midday Sunday. Expect Isolated pockets of heavier rainfall overnite.
Once the front pushes south, it will stall over southern Iowa, keeping Pow County in a more seasonal temperature regime Sunday and Monday.
For Tuesday and Wed? Same-Book-Different Chapter: The front will push back north as a warm front and put us right back in strong southerly flow - increasing our temps in the low/mid 90's and kicking our Dew Points well into the 70's. Result: Hot/Humid - Overnite and Early Morning Showers/Storms by Late Wed into Thursday..............
