Thursday, 7 July 2011 Extended Pow County Forecast

A slim shot at thunderstorms exist today through the afternoon hours and again on Friday afternoon with the daytime heating. An active weather pattern develops during the weekend and into early next week as a series of upper level disturbances move across Iowa. Saturday evening/night into Sunday will be the first round of thunderstorms, mainly covering northern Iowa - North of I-80.  Heavy rain is possible along the Iowa and Minnesota border. A second stronger wave of energy, combined with a stalled frontal boundary draped across central Iowa, will be the focus for another round of thunderstorms Sunday night into Monday. Pow County may see some welcome rain late Sunday into Monday morning.


Today 7th: Mainly Dry (Isolated Tshower 4-8pm)- Temp 84.

Fri and Sat 8th/9th:  Isolated Afternoon/Evening Tshowers both Fri and Sat - Temps 85/88.

Sun and Mon 10th/11th: Dry/Breezy most of Sun - Then Evening Tshowers into Monday Morning - Dry Mon Afternoon - Temps 90/85.

Tues thru Fri 12th-15th: Dry Tues and Wed -
Isolated Tshower/Breezy Thurs and Fri - Temps Mid/High 80's.

Sat thru Wed 16th-20th: Isolated Tshowers Sat - Then Dry - Temps Near 90.

Thurs and Fri 21st/22nd: Continued Warm/Dry.

Sat 23rd:  Tstorms - Then Much Cooler.
