Tuesday, 12 July 2011 Extended Pow County Forecast

THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO SLOWLY SPREAD EAST ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA THIS MORNING BEFORE DIMINISHING BEFORE MIDDAY TODAY. STORMS ARE FORECAST TO REDEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING HOURS ACROSS CENTRAL IOWA/POW COUNTY.  EXPECT SHOWERS AND MAYBE A TSTORM ON WEDNESDAY. A SWELTERING HOT AND HUMID AIR MASS IS FORECAST TO BUILD INTO CENTRAL IOWA BY FRIDAY AND DOMINATE THE WEATHER PATTERN THRU NEXT WEEK. EXPECT HEAT INDEX VALUES TO REACH 110 DEGREES THIS WEEKEND.



Today and Wed 12th/13th:  Dry Thru Mid Afternoon Today - Then Isolated Tshowers Lasting into Wed Morning - Then M/Cloudy With Isolated Rainshowers - Dry Late - Temps 85/81.  

Thurs and Fri 14th/15th:  Dry/Breezy - Temps Mid/High 80's.

A week to 10 days, beginning on the 16th looks to the warmest air of the Summer so far (Dry/Hot).  Very strong high pressure will build over the Southern half of the country.  Expect Average High Temps to be Well Above Normal - and Rainfall to be Below Normal.  The main storm track will be well to our North, so expect only outside shots at any Tshower activity, mainly in the evening and overnite hours..........

Sat thru Wed 16th-20th:  Dry/Hot/ Very Humid - Temps Low/Mid 90's.

Thurs Thru Mon 21st-25th: Continued Dry - Hot/Humid.

Tues and Wed 26th-27th: Storms - Then Dry/Cooler.
