Monday, 1 August 2011 Extended Pow County Forecast

Weather Headlines:
HOT Today and Tues - Cooler rest of week.
Isolated Tshowers East Tues afternoon.
Tstorms late Wed into late Thurs - Heavy Rain.
Mainly Dry next weekend with seasonal temps.

Hot/Humid conditions will persist thru Tuesday with with Heat Index in the 105-110 range.  A weak cool front will enter NW Iowa thru the day Tuesday and pass thru Pow County by late afternoon/evening.  Right now, it appears any Tstorm activity will be confined to the eastern half of the county late Tuesday, but an Isolated Tshower can't be ruled in the west.  The front will drop temps below 90 Wed, and into the Low/Mid 80's for the remainder of the week.

The next decent shot at rainfall will be later Wed into Thurs as a fairly strong Low Pressure System moves out of the SW U.S. and into Central Iowa thru the day Thurs.  We could see an Isolated Strong/Severe Storm during the day Thurs, with a good shot at picking up 2"+ of rainfall.

Most of next weekend looks dry with seasonal temps.  May see an Isolated Tshowers later on Sunday.........   


Today and Tuesday 1st/2nd: Dry - Temps 94/96 - May see an Isolated Tshower Tuesday afternoon East of Hwy 21 - Heat Index near 105-110 lasting thru Tues.

Wed thur Sat 3rd-6th: Tstorms late Wed lasting into overnite Thursday (Possible Heavy Rain/Strong Storms Thurs) - Then Dry Fri and Sat - Temps 88/82/84/86.

Sun and Mon 7th/8th: Isolated Tshowers Sunday- Dry Monday - Temps Mid 80's.

Tues and Wed 9th/10th: Tshowers Tues - then Dry - Temps Low 80's.

Thurs thru Sun 11th/14th:  Mainly Dry with Isolated Tshowers Sat/Sun - Temps Low 80's.

Mon and Tues 15th/16th: Tshowers.
