Monday, 8 August 2011 Extended Pow County Forecast

Thunderstorms are expected thru this afternoon and tonight ahead of an approaching cold front. Some of the storms could be severe with damaging winds and large hail the primary threats south of I-80. The cold front will move from northwest to southeast across Iowa tonight, ushering in several days of noticeably cooler weather, with lows in the 50s by Tuesday night and highs only in the high 70s on Wednesday. Slight thunderstorm chances will return to southwestern Iowa by late Wednesday, then more substantial thunderstorm by the end of the week.


Today thru Wed 8th-10th: Isolated Tshowers after Noon with periods of Heavier Rain overnite into early Tues - then Dry - Temps 82/80/78.

Thurs thru Sun 11th-14th: Mainly Dry thru the period with Isolated Showers Fri into early Sat - Temps Low 80's.

Mon thru Thurs 15th-18th: Isolated Tshowers Mon thru Wed - Dry Thurs - Temps near 80 Mon/Tues - then Low 70's Wed/Thurs.

Fri thru Sun 19th-21st: Dry - Temps Low 70's.
