Wed, 14 Sept 2011 Extended Pow County Forecast

Weather Headlines:
Dry thru Saturday
High Temps Low 60's - Low Temps 35-40
First Frost of the season Thursday Morning
Isolated Showers and Breezy Early Next Week

Strong Canadian High Pressure located over the MN/South Dakota Border will dominate our weather into the early weekend.  Expect isolated showers around the periphery of the High in Northern Mo and Western Iowa - Showers could reach as far east as Des Moines. Gusty northerly winds and Mostly Cloudy conditions will be the rule in Pow County today.

Temps will drop into the Low/Mid 30's overnite tonite in Central Iowa - expect pockets of frost along and south of the I-80 corridor - and a 2-3 hours freeze just to the north as temps drop into the high 20's north of Hwy 30.  Expect Low Temps back to 38-40 by Thursday morning.

The next shot at showers will arrive Sunday into Tuesday as the weather pattern goes abit unstable.  We'll see a warm up into the Low 70's with Breezy SW winds.  If we're lucky we'll see 1/4"-1/2" of rain over the 3 days.  Temps will be much warmer by late next week.   


Today thru Friday 14th-16th: Breezy Today - Dry - High Temps Low 60's - Low Temps 35-40.

Sat and Sunday 17th/18th: Breezy - Dry Sat - Isolated Showers Sun - Temps around 70.

Monday thru Fri 19th-23rd: Breezy with Isolated Showers Mon into early Tues - then Dry - Temps Low 70's Mon/Tues increasing to Low 80's by Thursday.

Sat thru Sat 24th-Oct 1st: Mainly Dry pattern with little to no rainfall - Temps will start out near 80, dropping to the Low/Mid 60's after the 25th - Windy from the 23rd to the 25th.
