A fairly strong low pressure system will develop over the Tx Panhandle late in the weekend and begin to track northeastward. By early Monday, the system will be in Central Mo and spreading rain into SE Iowa. The low will continue NE, tracking over, or just to the south of St Louis by late Monday. This will allow colder air to filter into Central Iowa - changing the rain over snow in the SE 1/3 of the state (east of I-35, south of I-80). Rain/Snow totals will be dependent on when the rain to snow takes place. In either case, extreme SE Iowa could see 1/2" of rain before changing to snow - then dropping a couple inches snow before ending later Tuesday - less amounts NW toward Pow County......Any change of the Low Pressure track will change precipitation totals.
Today (16th) thru Tues (20th): Flurries Tonite, then Dry thru Sun - Lt Rain Monday changing to Lt Snow during the afternoon - Snow ending early Tuesday - High Temps near 40, dropping to Low 30's Tuesday - with overnite Low's in the Mid 20's.
Wed (21st) thru Wed (28th):
Precip: 22nd/23rd Lt Snow - 25th/26th Fog and Freezing Drizzle - 27th/28 Snow.
Thurs (29th) and Fri (30th): Winter Mix to Snow.
