Monday, 16 Jan 2012 Extended Pow County Forecast

Just an FYI........A cold front has pushed south of Pow County - an upper level disturbance will track into SW Iowa and interact with the surface cold front.  Expect a mixed bag of winter precip to develop south of I-80, and turn to all snow with gusty north winds around midnight.  Snow will fall thru mid day Tuesday before tapering off.  Winds will continue out of North and remain gusty.......Expect 1-2 inches of snow in Pow County thru mid day Tuesday.  The heaviest snow will fall between 8-11am tomorrow morning..............

The next shot at measurable snowfall will come later Thursday into Friday.  Expect a Rain/Snow mix early Friday before changing over to all snow later in the day......Once again, winds will be factor....  It's early to come up with a specific number as far as total snowfall - However, If this system pans out, this could be the biggest snow fall of the season with 2+ inches possible.........

Today (16th) thru next Monday (23rd): Seasonal Temps thru Friday (Lower Wind Chill 0F to -10F Tues/Wed), then warming to the Low/Mid 40's over the weekend......Winter Mix tonight, changing to Lt Snow and Windy lasting into Tuesday ( 1"-2" Snowfall) - Dry Wed/Thurs - Winter Mix changing to Lt Snow/Breezy Friday/Saturday - Dry Sunday - Rain changing to Lt Snow/Windy Monday......

Tuesday (24th) thru Tuesday (31st): Lt Snow/Windy Tuesday - Warmer, Rainshowers/Windy 28th - Otherwise Dry.
