Just a quick overview today as the main focus for the forecast is the Winter Storm moving in this weekend.
It should start out as Lt Rain around 2-4pm Friday afternoon, and become a Rain/Snow, and Sleet Mix before midnite (may even hear a clap of Thunder), and change to all Snow by midday Saturday. The snow should last thru the morning Sunday, and changing back to rain/snow before ending after noon.......
The Heaviest Snow (6"-8") should fall west of a line from Waterloo - Marshalltown - Lamoni....
Pow County? We'll be in the rain and snow mixed longer than areas to the west, and when it does make the change thru the afternoon Saturday, it will be Light Snow. At the same time, the winds will be gusting out of East-Northeast to 30-35mph. Expect 2"-4" of snow over a 12 -14 hour period with heaviest snow around Grinnell, with lessor amounts south and east.......
